New Year’s Day Hike: Ventura River Preserve

Start 2026 outdoors on one of Ojai Valley’s most beloved landscapes. We’ll gather for a mindful hike along the Ventura River Trail through the Ventura River Preserve, a protected 1,600-acre expanse of river, oak woodlands, and varied terrain stewarded by the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy. 

This moderate hike is a chance to reconnect with nature, meet other members, and set intentions for the year ahead against a backdrop of winding river views, wildflower meadows (in season), and quiet canyon slopes. 

Why it matters:
The Ventura River is the sole water source for the Ojai Valley and supports critical habitat and biodiversity, this hike isn’t just a walk, it’s an invitation to appreciate and protect the landscapes that sustain us.
