Join us for the Ventura River Ramble, a guided social bike ride from the coast into the heart of the Ventura River corridor.
This relaxed outing (~16–18 miles round-trip, under 3 hours riding) blends movement with meaning, combining smooth, paved paths, shaded riparian habitat, and opportunities to learn about natural history, human influences, and climate resilience.
Route:
We'll ride along the coast into the lower Ventura River Trail system that links coastal trails with inland greenways. From there we’ll ride north along the Ventura River Trail toward Foster Park, then turn back for a scenic return.
Along the way, we’re share interpretive stories about the human history, river ecology, geology, watersheds, and human impacts through the lens of environmental justice.
What to Expect:
A friendly social ride suitable for hybrid, gravel, or touring bikes.
Mostly flat, paved trail riding with a few short on-street connections. We'll obey all traffic laws.
Stops for interpretation, questions, and photos at key ecological and historical points
A focus on community values, climate awareness, and outdoor engagement
Whether you’re a lifelong local or new to Ventura’s landscapes, this ride invites you to experience the river as a living classroom, toward deeper connection, stewardship, and joy in the places we call home.
